Where purpose
becomes leadership.

The Purpose-based Leadership Index reveals the human maturity of a leader — sixteen behaviours, drawn from the world's great value traditions, blossoming around one shared purpose.

The index

Leadership, seen whole.

PLI is not a personality test, and it is not a score made to rank people. It is a mirror — a way to see how a leader actually serves, decides, grows, and builds unity, read across sixteen observable behaviours of maturity.

Sixteen behaviours

Maturity is never a single trait. The index reads sixteen behaviours together — from caring for relationships and delivering real results, to humility, accountability, and the courage to stand for what matters.

Rooted in many traditions

Each behaviour draws on the great value traditions of humanity. Different roots that, read together, describe a fuller and more human picture of what good leadership really is.

A profile, not a label

You don't receive a verdict. You receive a living profile that shows your strengths and your growing edges — and a clear direction for the next step you choose to take.

Different roots. One flowering.

How it works

Three steps. One profile.

1

You're welcomed

A partner introduces you, or you simply apply. It takes a minute.

2

You're listened to

A guided conversation and assessment map your sixteen behaviours.

3

You see yourself

You receive your living leadership profile — and a path to grow.

For whom

For leaders who lead with a why — and the communities that recognise them.

PLI is built for leaders who carry an authentic purpose into business — and for the institutions able to recognise them. Leaders aren't ranked or picked from a list: they're introduced by people who already know their work.

The leaders

Entrepreneurs and executives who hold profit and purpose together — across the Economy of Communion, B Corps, benefit companies, cooperatives, social enterprises, long-standing family firms, and leaders with no affiliation at all. No network has a monopoly on authentic purpose.

Networks & institutions

Chambers of Commerce, associations, and value networks who introduce the leaders they know — and receive back an anonymised portrait of leadership across their territory: what defines it, which patterns recur, theirs to present and share.

We're starting with five Chambers of Commerce — and the assessment is free for the first circle of leaders.

The model

Seven colours of one light.

Like light through a prism, the values of leadership open into a spectrum — and return to a single white centre, held by gold. Many traditions. One purpose.

Mediterranean

Christian & secular humanism

The person at the centre, service as a posture, coherence between values and action.

East Asia

The Confucian tradition

Self-cultivation, harmony in relationships, the middle way as the measure of wisdom.

Sub-Saharan Africa

Ubuntu

“I am because we are.” The person is fulfilled in community; reciprocity is constitutive of being human.

Sixteen behaviours, four levels

Each behaviour is read on a scale from emerging to generative. When one recurs across all three traditions, it belongs to no single culture.

A map, not a ranking

Profile and behaviour are read together — not to rank leaders on a scale, but to show which forms of maturity appear in which contexts.

“Unity does not erase difference. It lets it shine.”
